About this piece:
Perhaps just human nature, we often go to great lengths in order to achieve status or acceptability in the eyes of the world. In this painting, one dog goes to extremes to obtain the flower. Hanging upsidedown by one foot, he stretches out and pretends to be a horse. The other dog, in contrast, is relaxed, content, completely himself and as a result happier.
