| Ruby Slipper Revelation pastel 54" x 65" 2007 SOLD NEXT |

| About this piece: I love the Wizard of Oz allegory of the ruby slippers in which the wearer need only click their heels together three times in order to return "home". I used cowboy boots in this painting to represent ruby slippers because I consider them to be more symbolically powerful than the sparkly pumps in the movie. However, even more significant to me than their appearance is what the slippers, or boots accomplish. Metaphorically they take one effortlessly back to one's source. Experience reveals to me time and time again that the connection I'm seeking in life is actually already present and need only be remembered.
